I’m always very excited for my newborn sessions, maybe even more so than any other session. Why? Well, for many reasons …
I love babies.
I may not have any of my own, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have a soft-spot for little newborn babies.
Every time I leave a newborn session, I’m thinking “Hmm, maybe we should start our family now…” And then I get home
and I’m greeted by my loving husband and crazy dogs, and I remember – I’m not ready for things to change just yet.
I love new parents.
I love seeing new parents or seasoned parents with a new baby.
The love in their eyes (sleep-deprived but still loving) is just so sweet. It makes me excited for my own future…
but mostly I love them because I love capturing genuine emotion and there isn’t a shortage of it during newborn sessions.
I love baby snuggles.
Now, sometimes, if I’m really lucky, I’ll get to snuggle the baby before, during, or after the session.
There is something so beautiful about holding a newborn baby. Their life is just beginning … they’re so innocent. <3
But, to say I was excited about this particular newborn session is a BIG understatement.
Now, I know you’re thinking to yourself … “Why, Nicole? Why were you SO excited about this particular newborn session?”
Well … the newborn baby I was about to photograph belongs to … my best friend in the entire world… !!!! And, she made me an Aunt to this beautiful boy. Now, it’s kind of “unofficial” because we aren’t sisters by blood – but it’s even more special because we sisters by choice. I’m an AUNT!
I’d like to officially introduce you all to the handsome, the adorable …
Harvey Fortune Reedy!
Harvey graced us with his presence in the wee hours of the morning on December 23rd, 2018. He made us all wait (impatiently) for more than a week before he decided he was ready to come out into the world. But my goodness, everyone who knows this little boy thinks it was totally worth the wait.
So … without further ado … here are some of my favourites from the newborn session I did with Harvey and his Mama (aka my best friend).
K… this photo below is amazing (Hello Chins!)
Below is my face when it’s Monday…
Baby feet … <insert heart eye emoji here>
This moment right here (below) … SO beautiful. Laura, Motherhood looks good on you!
“Hey, Auntie Cole, can you stop now?” (below)
“Hey, did we just become best friends?” – Duke (Dog). “Yep!” – Harvey (Baby).
I’m so proud of this girl and her hubby for bringing such a beautiful baby boy into the world (and into my life). There will be MANY more photos of this guy as he grows up. 🙂 Keep an eye out for more Harvey photos!
Have a wonderful day!
