Hello & Welcome!
I'm Nicole, the owner of NK Creative Studios.
I'm a lifestyle photographer based in Ottawa, Ontario specializing in natural light portrait photography. Growing up, I knew one day I wanted to do something that was creative and would be beneficial to others. Never in my wildest dreams did I think photography would allow me to meet so many amazing people!
I like simplicity when it comes to photography. In my camera bag, you’ll find one camera, a backup camera body and 3 lenses. I use primarily natural light and highly recommend sunset during golden hour (trust me, you’ll thank me later). I like to photograph my clients being themselves so I tend to avoid overly posed images.
I am very passionate about photography and love creating beautiful photographs that families will cherish for the rest of their lives. One day you will look back and wonder how time went by so quickly. But with beautiful photographs, you can look back and remember all of the wonderful times you shared with your family.
Nicole is the perfect photographer. She's funny and welcoming, she's hardworking (her turnaround is so quick), and she's passionate about what she does. She gets the shot she wants at all costs and you're left with countless memories.

I met Alex back in the summer of 2014 at a local gym (through a mutual friend). After about 6 months of persistent wooing, Alex officially won me over. And exactly 1 year later, asked me to be his wife.
In the summer of 2016, I went from having one of the most common last names (Smith) to one that I constantly have to pronounce and spell (Wiegelmann). Even though it takes twice as long to sign my name, every time I do, I’m reminded of the fact that I’m married to my best friend.
I should also mentioned that Alex is a very important part of NK Creative Studios. He has a very calming personality (which helps when things get stressful) and helps with the back-end stuff when I am designing websites for clients (yes I offer this service too).
nicole's favourite things
I am one of those crazy dog people who considers their dogs to be their children (Yes, I do consider myself a Dog-Mom and my dogs to be fur-babies). I have a different voice for talking to them and I believe they understand everything I say. I vent to them about my day and when I'm sad, they give me kisses (cute but gross since they definitely need breath mints).
I have more photos of the two of them than anything else and I’m totally okay with that. My phone storage is almost always full and I'm constantly deleting pictures of them since I tend to take photos of everything they do. I'm definitely that person that asks "Do you want to see photos of my dogs?" and regardless of your answer, I'll show you photos. Feel free to ask to see videos of Max howling like a siren and Piper in the bathtub – I’ll happily oblige and you will not be disappointed.
