I can't express how important it is to document all of the different monumental times in your life. From being pregnant with your baby... to those first few weeks after they are brought into this world, and then all of the changes they experience while growing up... those are the memories you want to freeze and keep forever. Don't miss out on documenting these times. You will never regret having these moments frozen in time with beautiful photographs.
I'm so glad you are here. While you're looking around to see if my style is the right fit, here's a little bit about me...
My name is Nicole (middle name is Kathleen - hence the NK). I prefer watching tv series over movies because they last longer. My favourite number is 8 (was my jersey number in hockey as a kid). I could eat a burger and fries every day and probably never get sick of it.
My love affair with photography began when I was in elementary school and has only grown stronger since. I wake up everyday feeling so grateful to be able to do what I love as my full time job. It's the best feeling in the world! I love creating beautiful photographs that families will cherish for the rest of their lives.
I'm also a web designer. There is no better feeling than helping a fellow entrepreneur by building them a stunning website!
I have big dreams of one day finding a way to give back to the community. I'm still brainstorming but I hope to find a way to integrate fundraising/charity into my business.
Alright, time to get a little more "personal"...
I married my husband, Alex, in July 2016. We met three years prior at the local gym. After several months of "wooing" on Alex's part, I gave in and decided to give him a shot. Turns out he was exactly what I needed. We fell in love quick and never looked back. We recently celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary.
In October of 2022, we welcomed our son, Chase, into the world. After 39 weeks of pregnancy, I was incredibly happy to meet my little guy... especially since my pregnancy was less than desirable (much less). Chase is the light of my life. Being his mom is, hands down, the best thing I have ever done. Motherhood is the most rewarding (albeit challenging) job anyone could ever have. Kudos to all the parents out there... this is hard!
Last (but not least), our family has two fur babies. Max is our LOUD german shepherd and Piper is CRAZY our boxer lab. They are truly the best dogs ever.
Our family is complete.
I like simplicity when it comes to photography. In my camera bag, you’ll find two camera bodies and two lenses. I use the natural light available at the location and focus on the emotional connection between you and your loved ones. Don't worry, I promise I will give you direction so you look your best while avoiding overly posed images! You can sit back and trust me!
When you work with me, you get everything without any hidden costs. All costs are explained upfront so you won't be surprised when it comes time to select your images! There are no in-person product sales meetings. You will receive an online gallery promptly after your session that includes images just for you, with the black and white copy (of every image) too!
I am incredibly passionate about what I do. My main goals for each session are to ensure I provide an excellent experience for my clients while also providing exceptionally beautiful images that serve as lifelong memories.
I truly hope to meet you some day!
To say I have a lot of schooling under my belt would be an understatement.
Here's a quick overview...
1. 2010-2012 ~ Studied Film Studies @ Ryerson University
2. 2012-2014 ~ Photography Diploma @ Algonquin College
3. 2013 ~ Web Design Certificate @ Algonquin College
4. 2014-2016 ~ BA Honours in Photography @ University of Hertfordshire (UK)
I have been shooting professionally since 2010, and I took the leap, quit my day job, and went full-time self-employed in March 2019. It was the best decision I have ever made!
I taught two semesters at Algonquin College in the Continuing Education Photography Program. I loved it but I felt like I needed to spend as much time focusing on building my business as I could. I hope to go back to teaching one day!
I absolutely love what I do. I wouldn't change it for the world!
Thank you for getting to know me better. I cannot wait to meet you!
